Too many people think that the best way to lose weight is by cutting carbs or fat. While this might work for some in the short term, here are 5 things that will get you results that actually last: 1. Ensure you’re eating enough. Lack of protein, fat or carbs can all cause problems in the long-term 2. Take steps to manage stress. High stress (high cortisol levels) will drive fat storage, even if you’re in a calorie deficit 3. Prioritise sleep. Poor quality sleep raises cortisol levels and disrupts blood sugars and hormones (driving fat storage and cravings), and disrupts hunger hormones (driving overeating and poor food choices). 4. Focus on low-intensity exercise and/or short bursts of high-intensity exercise, to prevent cortisol spikes. 5. Get properly hydrated. Burning fat, making energy, clearing toxins to support hormones, absorbing nutrients and much more all depend on adequate fluid intake. The best part is…you don’t need to do all 5 of these things right now. Start with one or two and see how easily you can incorporate them into your routine.
